Love Writing and Earning Money on Medium, Let’s Count the Ways
Critiques, praise, questions, links, personal experiences, etc. are all welcome.
The biggest myth I care to dispel is that having a story “Boosted” is important for views and earnings. It is not! By sharing screenshots of what I have earned and top stories I have had Boosted, I hope to encourage those who teeter on the verge of quitting to hang in there.
I also want to help those who like to compare real stats with others who are transparent enough to show them. Jan Sebastian 🖐👩🦰does this on a regular basis. I have been grateful to her for it because it lets me see just how nonsensical stats can be and not try to read too much into them.
When I first started writing and publishing frequently on Medium in the fall of 2021, my boyfriend and I looked at my stats page constantly, trying to make sense of and possibly predict what I could or would earn.
When I came across stories about what some other writers made with their stories, he only believed the ones that showed screenshots of their stats as proof, which is the reason I chose to take the ones I have that are featured in this story.
